Tom Lochhaas
Tom Lochhaas’ great passion is sailing. He’s owned several sailboats and currently cruises with his family from Nova Scotia to Block Island in their C&C Landfall 38. He’s criss-crossed the waters of New England and cruised to and from Bermuda and the Caribbean. He recently built a Gloucester Gull dory and rows the Atlantic coast when he’s not sailing or writing.
With an MFA in creative writing, in his earlier life Tom taught college writing courses, most recently at UCLA. Now working as a book editor for academic health care publishers, he has moved from teaching to writing. His articles and stories have appeared in SAIL magazine, Good Old Boat, Maine Boats and Harbors, and other regional magazines and newspapers. His two collections of sailing narratives – Treacherous Waters and Intrepid Voyagers – are available in nautical bookstores and at Amazon.com. Learn about these books and read some of his other writing at www.Lochhaas.com.
